The University of North Carolina at Charlotte believes that your personal information is yours to share and is not the property of the University. We consider it a privilege and an honor that you have chosen to conduct your business with us online, and are committed to preserving your privacy. Accordingly, UNC Charlotte will not sell, lease, rent or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties, except to the extent required by law. We do, however, reserve the right to use the information internally to conduct business, perform system analysis and study our offerings so we might better serve your needs.

Security Policy

The University has taken numerous steps to protect the personal information of those who transact business with us. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place reasonable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the personal information we collect online. These procedures and the underlying technology are subject to review and audit by qualified security assessors who test our systems regularly for compliance with applicable privacy laws and payment card industry standards. Although we can never completely guarantee that your personal information will not be accessed in an unauthorized or unlawful manner, it is our goal to make every effort to prevent that from happening. At UNC Charlotte, we understand that the responsibility for safeguarding your personal information is paramount to achieving customer loyalty and support.

Though we may use your email address, mailing address or phone number to contact you regarding account and invoicing issues or otherwise troubleshoot problems, the University will never request that you share your password, user name, credit card, or other personal information through email. If you receive an email soliciting sensitive data that appears to have originated from the University, please treat it as fraudulent and notify us immediately.

Cancellation/Refund Policies:

Return Policy for Educational Classes: In the event that a cancellation must be made, it needs to be submitted via email 21 days prior to the starting date of class for a full refund. Otherwise, we will deduct a 25% cancellation fee, and the rest will be credited back to your credit card. Cancellations made during 72 hours prior to the starting date will not receive a refund. To request a refund or in case of an emergency cancellation, please contact Amy Tipton at: AmyTipton@uncc.edu. You may also leave a message at 704-687-0721.

Cancellation Policies for tours and special events: Cancellations up to 10 days prior to the tour or event will receive a full refund. Cancellations between 10 days and 48 hours will receive a refund, less 25%. No refunds will be issued if cancellation is less than 48 hours before event. For outdoor tours and events that do not include rain dates, in the case of inclement weather, please contact your tour guide for rescheduling. Cancellation Policies for Symposium event: In the event the Symposium is cancelled due to inclement weather a full refund will be provided.
